Coma are at it. Their latest EP "Choices" really blew my mind away and made me bug them to give me more, as soon as they can. Just as if i wouldn't have expected it, they send me over this remix masterpiece of Kanye West's "Love Lockdown". At first i was a bit shocked: Huh? serious techno producers remixing a Hip Hop artist? i always thought thats more of a noisy / electro producer thing to do! After listening to the track i had to redeem everything i thought. The original already feature's Kanye's vocoder distorted voice, but i don't know how Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad came up with the idea of making a techno remix of the track, which could stand alone just as the instrumental. Anyways, this is not what i should worry about. I'm again more than happy to deliver you this unreleased and exclusive song on my blog, to let you know that these boys are burning!
The fellow producers in Cologne haven't been sleeping as well. Almost simultaneously, after receiving the material from Coma, Henning Henson send me over his rework of Coma's "Choices". He gives the track his distinct trademark sound and slows it down a little by keeping the vocals untouched and adding a few more instruments. Henson has various talents, from remixing indie rock bands to producing his own tracks, in cooperaton with Cologne's Dj of trust Shumi, being released on Kompakt soon.

When I first saw this, my initial thought was "does the world really need ANOTHER 'Love Lockdown' remix?"
Granted the approach is different, but I still stand by my initial reservations... it's a good track, and probably one of the best remixes of the song I've heard... but still entirely unnecessary.
thats no remix, but an entirely different song with samples taken from "love lockdown" - just sweet tune!
Are they comming to Berlin soon or what? :)
coma was kind and asked me if I could submit something for the competition and I did. check it out: myspace.com/cloudcmusic
